Hmmm…something else I don’t like is people who only start concerning themselves with ableism, accessibility or the “rights” of disabled people only AFTER they become disabled or they crap out a child with a disabling condition. These are the biggest flag waving, self serving, blow hards I’ve ever had the great pleasure of outright, fucking IGNORING. Before they HAD to deal with a disabling condition, they were the same people who gave me the guilty/sorrowful side eye, if I was lucky. More likely, these TAB’s couldn’t possibly be bothered to give a fuck about the fucked up shit disabled individuals deal with on the daily. Feeling sorry for me or avoiding me only means you’ve underestimated me, so by all means…carry on. I’m a little like Daenerys Stormborn like that.

Our First Street Style Superstar! We found this lovely woman at therapeutic swim at the Janet Pomeroy/Herbst Natatorium & she was nice enough to let us take a pic of her fly cane, which was decorated decadently with silver balls & her uber fashionable blue/orange color blocked sandals. Her outfit looked pulled together and appropriate for a real woman & we salute her!

When asked what her next cane design would look like, she responded, “Maybe red & gold for my 49’ers!”. We’re keeping our eyes open.

I love airports. I love San Francisco. I love travel. I love Portand. I love my friends. I’m also loving Virgin’s echeck in + going through the employee security check stations b/c I’m in a chair. It was so easy & fast. I will accept any “perks” from my disability quite shamelessly. Life w a chair is hard, so if there’s even a remote possibility there’s a system that makes even one thing in my life easier, I will take it.

I don’t love relying on a wheelchair b/c most people couldn’t give two fucks about people in chairs & the multiple levels of ableist designed architecture REALLY reflects that exhausting fact.
But seriously, I love to travel.
